GACC released that the import of all mechanical and electrical products amounted to RMB7.37 trillion ($1.16 trillion) in 2021, up 12.2%, accounting for 42.4% of the total import. 

In 2021, China imported 749.7 billion units of diodes and similar semiconductors, increasing by 38% year on year, reaching RMB191.8 billion ($30.32 billion), up 18.2% year on year.

Mechanical and electrical products export enjoyed a 20.4% increase, at RMB12.83 trillion ($2.02 trillion), accounting for 59% of the total export. Exports of automatic data processing equipment and its parts, mobile phones, and automobiles increased by 12.9%, 9.3%, and 104.6%, respectively.

China’s total imports and exports last year exceeded $6 trillion for the first time, hitting a record high.
